The federal government has officially proscribed the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) also known as Shi’ites led by detained Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
This was announced in a press conference by the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu on Tuesday in Abuja. According to the police boss, beginning from today July 30th, anyone associated with the group or furthering its agenda will be treated as a terrorist and an enemy of the state.
Recall that a federal high court in Abuja on Friday July 26th, declared the group a terrorist organisation, following an ex parte application filed by the federal government.
